Tom Jolley
I'm a passionate Sound Designer with 30 years experience specialising in particular with Hardware Synthesizers. (I just can't stop buying them!) ;)
Born into a musical family and growing up in the 80's, I was playing the piano from 8 years old and a few years later I was locked in my bedroom writing music on a crappy Yamaha PSR keyboard! (It wasn't until I was 19 that I convinced my Dad to buy me my first synthesizer, a Novation KS4 and then I was hooked!).
I became obsessed with electronic music, being fascinated by early computer game soundtracks and listening to Jean-Michel Jarre, Depeche Mode and New Order.
Then in the early 90's, I dived headfirst into the UK Rave scene that broadened my musical horizons, and being influenced by everything from The Prodigy to Paul Van Dyk in this rich melting pot of electronic dance music.
In the late 90's I bought a Trance Nation CD at the airport before a holiday in Spain and I was captivated by the sounds, melodies and emotions of Trance.
In the last few years I've also grown a deep appreciation for Melodic Techno and Progressive House. Basically any dance music that features infectious melodies combined with deep emotions.
When I manage to escape the studio, you'll find me in the gym or travelling around the world. Everywhere from Bali to Budapest!
Now I'm really enjoying producing a fusion of Progressive House, Melodic Techno and Trance using my Analog synths. and spending my time creating premium quality sound banks for other music producers to use in there own tracks and coaching students to fast track their sound design skills and level up their music production.
